How To Apply - Bahari Beach Campus

In order to reserve a place for your child the following steps need to be completed.

Step 1: Visit the school

The admissions process begins by parents or guardians contacting the campus you wish your child to attend to arrange for a school visit. We encourage all prospective parents to visit us and be given a short tour of the school. We request that you contact a member of our Admission Team for an appointment so that you can be given our full attention. In addition to any questions you may have, we will provide you with the necessary application form, the relevant fee schedules, and other relevant application requirements.

Step 2: Submit an Application

In order to keep the application process as efficient as possible, we ask only that you complete our standard application form and submit the application fee along with copies of school reports and a confidential teacher evaluation. The Confidential Evaluation Form can be given to your child's current teacher to complete, and must be sent directly back to the Admissions Office by email or in hard copy (in a sealed envelope). Teachers and schools are usually very good at sending back the Confidential Evaluation Form very promptly. Please note that we cannot process any applications until the application fee has been received.

Completed applications may be submitted by email or in hard copy at the Admissions Office Once you have submitted the completed application and it has been processed, your child(ren) will be placed on a waiting list for their age-appropriate year group. Due to the high volume of applications received, applications will be handled on a 'first come, first served' basis.

Step 3: Assessments/Interviews

You will be given an appointment for your child to attend for an assessment. For Years 1 & 2 there is a structured oral assessment, which normally takes 45 minutes. For all other Years there is a written assessment, which takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.

On occasion, we understand that it may not be possible for a child relocating from outside Tanzania to visit our school for an assessment. In these circumstances, alternative arrangements may be made following discussions with parents. As with all final admissions decisions, this is entirely at the discretion of the Head of School.

Step 4: Offer and Acceptance of a Place

You will usually be notified of the admission decision within 1 week of the assessment, assuming that all the required documentation has been received. A family who has been offered a place is, at this point, required to pay the Good Faith Deposit and to provide a School Leaving Certificate from the current school of the child who has been offered a place. Also at this juncture, parents will be given an Enrolment Agreement to complete. This form must be signed and returned to the Admissions Office within one week of the offer being made. Once the Enrolment Agreement, the Good Faith Deposit and the School Leaving Certificate have been received, a place will be reserved for your child in the appropriate year group, and you will be sent a Parents' Handbook with practical information related to the school.

Due to the limited number of places available in each year group, failure to accept the offer of admission within the given deadlines will be taken as an automatic refusal of the offer, and all fees paid to that time will become non-refundable. Your child's place will automatically be rescinded, and passed to the next person on the waiting list.

If your child is not offered admission to the school because there are no places available in the year group at the appropriate campus, you will be given the option of remaining on the waiting list in case a place opens up, or withdrawing from the waiting list and having your Good Faith deposit returned. If your child is not offered admission to the school for any other reason, the Good Faith deposit will be refunded to you in full.
